Preview
The qualification is aimed at students who want to acquire the skills to groom and style, from start to finish, a wide variety of dog breeds, to learn about health and safety in a dog grooming salon, and to gain skills in business management and in canine emergency first aid. The qualification includes both theory and practical work.
iPET Network have developed this qualification in the Animal Care and Veterinary Science sector fairly recently. Students will learn to groom at least 20 dogs and a minimum of 10 different breeds, covering at least 6 different types of coats, with an aim to cover many more. There are no pre-requisites to starting this qualification, meaning students can join at level 3 without previously having completed the level 2 course, which can greatly save on cost.
Students will be trained in practical skills such as prepping, bathing, scissoring, clipping, styling and nail trimming on a variety of dog breeds.
